We don't have complete control of where your site shows up in search engines. However; we can do everything in our power to drive traffic to your site and increase your visibility when people search for your business, type of business, and product or service that you offer. This is called Search Engine Optimization.
People think that there is some sort of magic behind improving your website rankings on search engines for potential customers to find you. There is a checklist that we follow to insure that we are doing everything we can to optimize your site. What it comes down to is that everything that needs to be done, on the most part is time consuming.
If done correctly and the investment of time in the tasks are completed then you can expect to reap some substantial benefits. Here are some of the items on our "checklist" that we use to optimize your Website for search engines.
There's no getting around this. If you have the content that visitors are looking for, relevant information that they need, more people will link to your site; visitors will stay on your longer and they will be encouraged to not only be repeat visitors but repeat customers as well. A huge part of Search Engine Optimization are Links to Your Site from others. A couple of links will get you by, but quality links and a lot of them will show the search engines that your site is an authority on the subject.
How do you get High Quality, and Credible sites to link to your site? Remember those time-consuming tasks I spoke of earlier? This is another one of them!
The first part of this is to make sure that your website is listed in every online directory that has anything at all to do with your brand, business or service.
We take the time to make sure you are listed everywhere and research for credible sites to link back to yours. We also write articles, post in blogs, and provide content from your site to share with other sites. The process takes time but plays a major role in SEO.
This starts at the beginning when we build your site. We follow site structure guidelines while building your site to insure that the "spiders" from search engines can find and read your information. Part of this process includes providing simple links to all your pages of your site, use standard header tags (the correct H1, H2, H3 tags), include content early in HTML pages, and remember there are no tricks, Search engines spend a huge amount of time trying to preclude shortcuts, and they don't take kindly to being tricked. Stay the road and we will get there in due time! Hard work and diligence will pay off in the end!
Keep your site updated and add fresh content whenever you can! Search engines love new content! Add new blog articles, new images, new press releases and videos. Search engines will see that your site is frequently updated and will keep coming back to index it! If your site just sits and is stagnant and rarely updated, it can take months for search engines to find anything that you have done. By the way, a great way to keep your site fresh is with a blog. Make sure to ask about our CMS sites which provide great information and allow links from others!
The way search engines read through the magnitude of information on the web is by using software programs called "robots" or "spiders". The first thing we do is make sure that your site is indexed by these guys which makes sure you will be found on the web. (You got to start somewhere!).
We also make sure to submit your site to search engines, it's like giving them a little push. Another way search engines will find you is through links to other sites. Just like we spoke of earlier, making sure you are in online directories where other sites will find you, the spiders will find you too!
The truth be told, search engines usually don't respond to changes overnight. In fact, sometimes it takes weeks or months to see updates and changes reflected in search engines results.
Be patient, we will keep working at it and before you know it you will begin to see positive results. We won't stop there! The web is forever changing with new Web sites, new articles, and changing search engine priorities. Keeping up with all the changes is part of the job.
